As a kid snow used to be sooooo much fun. Even in college, sometimes I’d be making serious dua for snow to get out of an exam or something…..
Now, snow has lost much of its luster. When I see snow, I see traffic jams and long commute times to work- and yeah, they make us go to work no matter how bad the snow gets
. So you can imagine how I felt when I woke up this morning and saw 6-8 inches of snow outside!! My sister was partying like she won the lottery or something, and I was thinking ‘arrrrggggghh!’
On the brighter side, the roads were completely empty alhamdulillah. Cool quote to end with:
Abu Haazim al-Zaahid mentioned gratitude of all the physical faculties: (It means) refraining from sin, and using them to help one to do acts of obedience. Then he said: As for the one who gives thanks with his tongue but does not give thanks with all of his physical faculties, his likeness is that of a man who has a cloak and takes hold of the edge of it, but does not put it on, so it is of no benefit to him against cold or heat or snow or rain.
