Two years ago I was attending a lectureby Shaykh Ibrahim Dremali at the Texas Dawah Convention. If my memory serves me right, the lecture had to do with parents or family, and during the speech Shaykh Ibrahim began to speak about the blessing of health and while doing so, he became visibly emotional and teary. At the moment I didnt understand why. Now I do.
Shaykh Ibrahim has been experiencing liver problems and recently his treatment has begun to intensify as he has undergone chemotherapy and various liver treatments. The Shaykh has written an email regarding it and I’ve reproduced it at the end of this post and I request you read it.
I never knew the shaykh intimately, but my one very brief encounter with Shaykh Ibrahim came during the same conference. I was walking in the hotel and happened to be waiting for the elevator at the same time as him. I knew he had studied with Shaykh Al-Albani, rahimahullah, so I asked him about how some people consider Shaykh Al-Albani controversial today whereas others look at him as a reviver of this deen. I dont remember his exact words, but he responded by saying that Shaykh Al-Albani, rahimahullah, was definitely one of the revivers of this deen and that sitting with the shaykh just once was enough of an evidence to prove that point. May Allah preserve Shaykh Ibrahim and give his family patience during this time. Ameen.

As Salamu Alaikum
As you know, Allah SWT has put me through one of the biggest challenges in my life wa Alhamudulillah. My chemotherapy and liver treatment is more intense than I had imagined Alhamdulillah. It is times like this when we are presented with the opportunity to renew and increase our appreciation for all the blessings Allah SWT has given us, and for us to get closer and closer to Him Azza wa Jal. Alhamdulillah for everything. I would like to thank you for your support during this time, your duaa, phone calls and visits. It really means a lot to me and I ask Allah SWT to bless and protect you and your family; Ameen. Masha’Allah many of you are asking what you can do to help. My answer, is to continue making duaa for me. Don’t underestimate the power of DUAA. I am optimistic about my recovery Insha’Allah and am grateful for whatever Allah SWT decrees for me. Your duaa is important and highly appreciated, not just for myself but for all the Muslims in need around the world, wa Jazakum ALLAH Khayran. The Prophet (sallAllahu alayhi wasallam) said, “Take advantage of five matters before five other matters: your youth, before you become old; and your health, before you fall sick; and your richness, before you become poor; and your free time before you become busy; and your life, before your death.” My dear brothers and sisters, I urge you to take heed to these words from our beloved Prophet. Even better, we can take advantage of these five things for the benefit of Muslim organizations and our entire Ummah. I urge you use your youth, your health, your richness, your free time, and your life more for Islamic work. Get involved in the community, support our youth, your Masjid, Islamic schools, and donate your wealth. Your reward is with ALLAH SWT, and the benefits are everlasting. On behalf of ICGA, if you would like to offer your support by making a donation, a small amount like $75 a month, or $2.50 per day is more than appreciated. Since my treatment began, I have not been conducting all of my regular activities at ICGA, but Alhamdulillah I am still doing what Allah wills for me two or three times a week. However, the continuous success and services that ICGA delivers to the community and youth is something that I wish to always go on, for the benefit of the Muslims. And after ALLAH SWT that success comes from us. No amount is too small, and each dollar given for His sake will bring benefit that will be multiplied for us in Dunya and in Akhirah Insha’Allah.

I ask Allah SWT to bless you immensely, and once again I thank you for all your support and continuous duaa. As always I will keep you and your family in my duaa as well.
Jazakum ALLAH Khayran
