I’ve been considering posting about this restaurant for quite some time, but I’ve held off…mainly for selfish reasons that include a fear of the place getting crowded resulting in a longer wait time for food and less parking availability. But, in the spirit of brotherhood, and loving for your brother what you love for yourself, I’m going to post about one of my favorite restaurants in the area 🙂
ZPizza in Alexandria (off Duke Street) is absolutely phenomenal. All the ingredients are organic and though its not thabiha, you can make some amazing pizza combinations with the veggie options. My personal preference is the diced tomato and feta pizza with mozzarella and marinara on wheat, but you simply cant go wrong at this place. MashaAllah, the aroma of the cheese and freshness of ingredients are something that has to be witnessed to truly appreciate.
As a word of caution, I must state that not all ZPizza’s are the same- if you have a ZPizza in your vicinity, note that its probably NOT as good as the one in Alexandria. I’ve tried the ones in Springfield and Reston, only to leave disappointed by both.
ZPizza does have its faults: you can expect to spend $12-$20 for a pizza and depending on the crowd, you may have to wait a little while for your pizza.
If you like pizza’s and live nearby or within a reasonable driving distance, I’d give this place a whirl and see how you like it.
